Vision is a SE101 design project I worked on along with others to combat the issue of visual impairment. The goal of the project was to create a device that could be used to help the visually impaired navigate their surroundings. It used an engineering hard hat which was equipped with hardware (ultrasonic, infrared, buzzer) sensors and an Arduino (C++) that alerts which alerts the user of any obstacles in their path. The device was able to detect objects within a 100 cm radius of the user with a 80% accuracy.
