Overview

In this project, I reimagined rizz at the University of Waterloo. As a student at UWaterloo, I kept hearing how STEM majors are incapable of “rizzing” and how the dating scene is non-existent. I wanted to change that. I wanted to create a platform that would allow students to connect with each other and find their perfect match. Introducing UWaterloo Rizz, a dating plaform for UWaterloo students.

Project MVP Features

Endless Feed

The so called “endless feed” is the core of the application. It allows users to scroll through other users’ profiles and decide whether they want to match with them or not. The feed is also dynamic, meaning that it is constantly being updated with new profiles. This allows users to always have new profiles to see.

Profile Creation

Users can create their own profiles by uploading pictures and filling out their bio. This allows other users to see their profile and decide whether they want to match with them or not.

Live Matching

Users can match with each other by swiping right on each other’s profiles. Once a match is made, users can see each others phone number and start talking.

Project Outcomes

As a hackathon project, this project was a step in the right direction of solving the dry dating scene at UWaterloo. The project was well received by the judges and the audience as it receieved the highest public voting in the hackathon with over 20 likes.
